Name: Lekisha Turner Age: 22 Measurements: 34 25 37 WU: I understand that you started out rapping. How did that come about and do you still write? LN: I began writing when I was 16. Just for fun, a lot of people were surprised in my style as well as impressed with the lyrical content. The delivery and swag came after that. I still write. I write as much as possible. WU: So what was it that actually got you into modeling? LN: The modeling thing was not something I took seriously at all. I actually started off with sprint phone pics lol. I posted a few on myspace and I had my first photo shoot soon after. It was crazy the reaction from my myspace friends as well as personal. I then posted images on other freelance model sites such as www.modelmayhem.com www.onemodelplace.com and www.modelplace.com. From there a fan base grew. I took more and more pictures and now, Im a pretty know model in the urban industry. WU: That must have been an awkward transition. How did you deal with it? LN: Well the transition was not awkward at all. When I started modeling I was in a Block with the music. I suffered from a very long and hard writers block. I was involved in a very long and stressful relationship, and my mother passed away soon after. That gave me something to write about. I actually feel my Lyrical content is far fetched now compared to before. WU: Which do you prefer? Why? LN: I definitely prefer the music over modeling but I will continue modeling and the music, as well as television. WU: What separates you from all the other beautiful ladies out there in this competitive field? LN: Its simply like this. Im me. Im not a Catty woman. I dont involve myself in groups, crowds, or even situations with women mainly because I know how women are and also so that I will not be in any BS. In fact I dont consider myself to be competitive as far as other models. I dont feel Im to be competed with, and Im not saying this in a arrogant way I humble myself when I say this. I feel the way I think is not as a typical woman. I think logical, not to mention Im very much grounded. Lol Besides my family, security, money, and my hustle is far more important to me then the material things, most of these chicks be on these material What I got Kicks, and that has never been me. WU: So break it down for us...What makes you feel sexy? LN: What makes me feel sexy? Hmm When I can come home from a long day of work, light some candles and incense relax in something comfortable. It wouldnt hurt to have a fine brown brother to chill with me possibly listen to some smooth R & B, Preferably some Kem, Floetry, Jill Scott or Carl Thomas. WU: I can dig it...I understand you are also a businesswoman. What is some advice that you could give to any young businesswoman out there trying to make it happen? LN: Focus. Learn and Hustle. Place yourself around other business minded individuals, cut all the losers out of your life and GET MONEY! WU: Real spit...but What gives you the confidence to put yourself out there like that? LN: My motto: Men Lie, Women Lie Numbers dont; Jay-z. Have you seen my myspace page? The support from my friends gives me the confidence, and my haters seal all deals. lol WU: I can definitely feel that...so Where can we expect to see you in the near future? LN: Every where. Believe it. WU: Any last words... LN: Thank you for the interview I enjoyed the questions, they were very respectful. Peace!
